Katheryne Penny, known by most as Penny, considers it a privilege to get to work with kids who are passionate about performing. She started her professional career in 2002 doing How the Grinch Stole Christmas at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego. After studying musical theater at UCLA she went on to perform in Spamalot at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Eric Idle, Christian Slater, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson. She can be seen on screen in IFC’s Comedy Bang Bang playing Annette Funicello in their Season 4 Christmas special with Josh Groban, as well as in the Season 2 premiere of CBS’s Elsbeth featuring Nathan Lane. She is a core member of the Forbidden Broadway Company, a New York musical theater comedy institution since 1982, and is currently touring with the show. In her spare time she creates original work on her social media in the form of conceptual dance pieces. Penny hopes to spread the joy she obtains from performing to the younger generation and is so grateful to Next Stop Broadway for giving her the chance to do so!
