Welcome to camp! With New York City as a backdrop, campers discover how the world around them can serve as inspiration for creating stories, characters, music and choreography. We bring in exciting guest artists to lead workshops and guide campers as they develop their own mini-plays. We also venture out on field trips to explore some of the cultural institutions and artistic landmarks of NYC.
Last summer we visited the Costume Wing of the Metropolitan Museum and then campers designed their own costumes inspired by the exhibit. We also saw Operation Mincemeat on Broadway and explored ways to incorporate real-life events into theater. And of course, we take daily trips to the Ancient Playground at Central Park… because who wants to stay cooped up inside all day?
