Emma Ashford

Emma (she/her) is a multidisciplinary writer, composer, and performer from California. Emma is a graduate of University of Michigan’s B.F.A Musical Theatre program (Minor– MT Composition). In addition to performing Off-Broadway and in various new plays and musicals, Emma was recently named a 2024-25 Dramatists Guild Musical Theatre Writing Fellow and is a resident writer at Goodspeed Musicals' JMF Writer's Grove this year.  Emma’s show MISS AMERICA (former title: HEARTBEATS (‘25 O’Neill NMTC Semi-Finalist) had its first industry reading in May featuring Alli Mauzey & more. Additionally, Emma’s songs from the movie-musical 1660 VINE (directed by NYTW’s Patricia McGregor, now on Amazon Prime) have been recognized at IndieFEST, The Vegas Movie Awards, & The Indie Filmmaker Awards (1660 VINE is now licensable via MTI).  Emma loves to engage the creative minds of tomorrow at TCS by sharing the joy and power of music, theatre, and dance, creating a space where children can build confidence, curiosity, and community.
